Troy Renkemeyer

Troy obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from Missouri State University in December 1990, graduating with Cum Laude honors.  Troy obtained his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation in May 1991.  During the Spring of 1991, Troy began the Masters of Accountancy/Taxation program at the University of Missouri – Columbia.  Troy practiced accounting with a regional accounting firm briefly before attending law school.  In 1996, Troy obtained a law degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.  Troy practiced tax and corporate law for two years at a mid-sized law firm, specializing in assisting start-up companies, as well as small and mid-size companies with their corporate and tax needs.  During his tenure there, he obtained an advanced law degree, a Masters of Laws (LLM) from the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law.

In May 1997, Troy joined the International Tax Group of a Big 5 accounting firm where he worked with multinational companies, in which he specialized in mergers and acquistions, designing and implementing tax-driven financing structures, and forming off-shore entities to optimize tax benefits.  In December 1999, Troy left the Big 5 firm to open the law offices of Renkemeyer, Campbell & Weaver, LLP.  In addition, as a sister-entity of the law firm, the accounting firm Campbell & Renkemeyer, LLP was formed to provide tax return preparation and general accounting services to its clients.  Troy continues his professional practice as a sole practitioner today.

In addition to Troy’s professional career, he has been involved with a variety of small businesses.  In December 1998, Troy co-founded a staffing services firm whose annual sales grew to $8 million in just 18 months.  In May 1999, Troy co-founded The KC Candle Company, LLC which manufactured candles for high volume retailers.  Troy was a shareholder and served on the Board of Directors of Transport Recovery Services, Inc, an Omaha, Nebraska based corporation involved in the small package delivery industry.  In 2002, Troy co-founded a brick manufacturing company based in Oklahoma that he brought public.  In 2004, Troy co-founded a Kansas City based over-the-road trucking carrier whose annual sales grew to $12 million in its initial 18 months with approximately 100 trucks and 120 trailers transporting goods across nearly all 50 states.  Also in 2004, Troy organized a Texas based dental discount plan which provided to thousands of members.

In 2012, Troy bought and sold American Lawsuit and Settlement Funding, LLC which bought and sold legal claims and judgments.  Troy also founded Iceberg Capital, LLC which funded mass-tort style pharmaceutical lawsuits.

Troy co-founded a company that created a national network of recently retired superintendents of school districts.  It marketed third-party products to school districts.  These products included a variety items such as body-worn cameras, banking services, and solar panels installed on school buildings.  This network was designed to utilize relationships between recently retired superintendents in the network and the existing school district superintendents within the metropolitan areas in which they previously worked.

Further, Troy began working with KC Processing Company, LLC in 2019, a CBD crude oil extraction company.  Within one year it had grown its capacity to have the ability to extract CBD oil from 50,000 pounds of biomass per day / 1.5 million pounds per month, making it the largest CBD extraction company in the United States today.

One of the primary areas of Troy’s professional practice has always been advising clients on real estate matters, including purchase and sale transactions, management issues, leasing issues, etc. In  addition to being integral to his clients’ real estate projects, Troy has been involved with a variety of his own real estate-based developments and ownership projects in the Kansas City area and other areas.  Currently, these include owning commercial rental space and mineral leasehold interests in Kansas and Louisiana.
